Note From Peggy

Merry ChristmasHi %$firstname$%,

Happy Holidays!

It's hard to believe that 2011 is winding down. What a great year it has been!

As you look back over the year, what are some of your biggest accomplishments? How did they come to be, and what can you do for an encore in the upcoming year?

This is the first year I've put some serious thought to my business goals. Previously, I would have an amount of money I wanted to make in mind, but in 2012, I have much more specific goals. Not only do I have an exact income figure written down, I have the number of clients for each specific retainer package, the number of SEO clients, and the number of transcription clients I want, all written down. And better, I have my business goals broken down by quarter, and which of my team members are responsible for each goal.

Already I am amazed at the positive, eager energy I see from my team. I think they've decided to exceed my goals this year!

I challenge you to take some time over the next week and create goals for your business. Write them down and share them with your team. You'll be pleasantly surprised at what you can accomplish together.

Wishing you a blessed holiday and a happy and prosperous 2012,
Peggy

Do you have a New Year's Resolution for your business?

2011 is almost over, can you believe it? I don't know if you've even thought about a New Year's resolution but we have. Here are a couple of big things that come up and a few ideas to stay committed to them!

Successful Social Media
This is on so many business minds these last few years. Will 2012 be your year? Here are a few things to help you prepare for social success.
  • Pre-plan big promotions or events on the calendar first
  • Next, remember the holidays or dates that are important to your marketing and plan in small specials around those dates
  • Be prepared to share regular content
  • Be prepared for ongoing interaction with your community
  • Have guidelines and rules in place for any employee or contractor who will be managing your social accounts
  • Track, rinse and repeat...always watch what's working, what's not and make incremental improvements. Doing everything at once is a nice idea, but in real life it rarely works.
Introduce Video on Online Marketing
Video has shown remarkable results for so many businesses in 2011. Next year could be a big break for you. Check out these steps to start video marketing.
  • What web site pages would you like to add video to? How is the video going to increase that page's effectiveness?
  • Do you want to do vlogs (video blog posts)?
  • Are you going to use YouTube or another service?
  • What keywords are you focusing on for your videos?
  • Where else can you spread the word of your videos? Fan pages, Twitter, newsletters etc.
Socially Optimize Your Business Website
If you're already active in social media the next step is making sure your website is ready for social interactions. Here's a simple checklist to get you started.
  • Can people easily find you on Twitter and Facebook?
  • Can visitors easily share your content with their friends?
  • Can visitors easily comment on your posts?
  • Do you have social automation in place for new content?
  • What is your main social media goal? Now how can your website help achieve that goal?
We'd love to hear your business resolutions. Share them with us on our Facebook Fan Page. Saying them out loud is the first step to results!
