Hi %$firstname$%,

Do you ever look at a blank screen and wonder what to write? My husband rarely seems to have that problem and I am envious! He just received word that his next book was accepted for publication in the second quarter of 2012. Congratulations Honey! (That's him in the photo - his other books are here)

My family are readers, and for that I am grateful. I always have a stack of unread books nearby. One I am currently working through is Mastering The Rockefeller Habits by Verne Harnish. Loosely translated, there are three underlying habits that are key to successful management.

  1. Priorities (have a handful of rules)
  2. Data (repeat yourself... a lot)
  3. Rhythm (act consistently with those rules)

What are your rules for business? One of mine is... How would I want this handled if *I* were the client?

To Your Virtual Success,
Peggy

4 Tips for Business Blogging Success

business bloggingThere’s no doubt that blogging for your business is an important part of your overall online marketing plan. It is not only a place to showcase your expertise but it is a place to share relevant, useful information with your clients. It also has the potential to improve your communication with your clients when you blog about interesting topics and share helpful tips that they can benefit from!

As you begin to use blogging for your business or look for ways to improve your blogging remember these 4 tips:

  1. Blog for your audience. Always keep in mind who you are writing your blog post(s) for. Who is in your target market? Ensure you are blogging great content that is specific to your audience and that it shares information that they will find helpful and interesting.

  2. Make your blog search engine friendly. It is important to do your keyword research and include keywords throughout your blog content. Always include keyword-rich blog post titles and be aware that having keyword-rich category names on your blog will improve your search engine visibility.

  3. Encourage comments. Ask your readers to comment on your blog post and share their thoughts, questions and/or opinions. This is a great way to engage with your audience. Also remember to be personable and respond to comments on your blog posts.

  4. Include sharing buttons. By having sharing buttons right there on your blog post you can effectively generate more post views and increase the visibility of your post(s). Some sharing buttons include a Twitter re-tweet button, a Facebook share button, a Google Plus sharing button, a Digg button, a del.icio.us button and other popular social networking/bookmarking sites.

Always keep in mind why you are blogging. Blogging will help to improve your search engine ranking and increase your business if you keep the content and information relevant to your customers needs.

Happy Blogging!

Did you just say something?

So many ambitious people – women particularly – struggle to be heard as they go about their day-to-day business. It’s frustrating and such a waste of time and energy when other people are either ‘tuning out’ or putting you ‘on mute’ as you try to get your point across or your message heard. Well, enough!

On November 17 Kay White - the Savvy and Influential Communication Expert from the UK- will be hosting a brand new free training call to help you 'break through the sound barrier' and be heard.

In Kay’s free training call “Did you just say something?” she’ll spill the beans on some subtle ways to grab attention when you want to, how to get people to sit up and listen to you and how to say what you want (without hesitating or kicking and screaming). Be assertive and still respectful as you get your point across.

Kay's work is all about helping you to connect with people so they really hear you (and don't just nod at you) and I'm excited to share her with you. I know she's going to give you some exciting new distinctions which you'll be able to use straight off and, as Kay herself says, "small changes in the way you communicate make a GIANT impact on the way you're heard and understood".
