There so many apps out there and new ones coming into play every day…how in the world is anyone supposed to keep up? I’m always experimenting with new apps and computer programs, but I sometimes feel overwhelm kick in too.
So I wanted to share a few apps that I’ve used and they’ve really eased the content overwhelm issue!
RockMelt – For your desktop and laptop
This is the master social media browser that brings the social world to you when you want it. Here’s a few of the features I use every day:
- Facebook Notifications
- One Click Sharing
- Instant News
- Social Chat
- AND Quite Mode!
This browser is also really fast, it’s built around Chrome. So if you use the Chrome browser this is very similar.
One my strategies:
First thing in the morning I check the all the updates RockMelt as ready for me. From Facebook messages to new blog posts, it tells me everything. I LOVE it! It gets me up to date on my main social accounts to start my day. Saving my more than 30 minutes a day.
Pulse – Free App for Your iPhone or Android
This news app is fast and simple to setup. Choose what news is important to you and get instant notifications.
- Custom Tabs
- Top News Sites
- Share with Ease
- Snap Shot Photos
- Browse Your News in Minutes
I check all the news sites that interest me and I have them segmented by theme. I read through the news articles and share any information that would interest my audience. I use this app in conjunction with Buffer, which lets me schedule my posts over time so while I’m reading my news my audience doesn’t get 14 posts all at once. Rather my posts will be dripped throughout the day. Keeping my profiles active with great content that my audience can use.
One of my strategies:
I read my news sites before I sit down at my desk. (This could be your leisure blogs, news or something you enjoy reading.) I then choose some articles that my audience would also be interested in. I then click share and use my Buffer app to schedule some posts throughout the day.
Instagram – Free App for Your iPhone or Android
This is a fast app for your phone to share photos quite and easy. You can even give your photos some cool effects with the built in features.
- Share your photos on the fly
- Automatically share with your social profiles
- Add a photo frame with one click
- Special photo filters
- Include Location Tags
One of my strategies:
When I’m at conferences I take photos of the area, speakers, me, fun stuff, etc and use Instagram to automatically share with my social networks. Saves time and effort while you have a million other things going on at conferences.
There you have it, 3 tools that I use on a regular basis. Do you have any apps you’d recommend? Let me know below!
